Self-guided tour
A self-guided tour of our museum areas It's 1967, and the lift is about to make its last manoeuvre. Follow Jacques, the boat lift's caretaker, as he sets off on his last tour, and listen as he tells you the little anecdotes that have made up the great history of this extraordinary monument, a witness to the heyday of French industrialisation. Then climb aboard a real Freycinet barge, and discover the very special way of life of the bargemen

A self-guided tour of our museum areas combined with a guided tour of the Fontinettes Boat Lift environment: In the company of our mediators, explore the environment of the Ascenseur à Bateaux des Fontinettes and contemplate the grandeur of the human engineering that made navigation possible on this good old Neuffossé canal, which has seen many barges pass through it!
